PAF Achieves 50th Overhaul of C-130 Aircraft

 C-130 is the back bone of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Transport handling fleet and they  are using this Lockheed giant since 1960. Now in the situation where country is fighting intense fight against Terrorism The role of C-130 is significant in this scenario   PAF  has   announced to achieve another significant milestone when the 50th indigenous overhaul of C-130 aircraft was rolled out in a grand ceremony held at the Nur Khan Air base . Ex Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman was the chief guest at the occasion.

Overhaul of C-130

Although the PAF is having some other variants of Transport category like IL-76 and CN-235 but still C-130 is having major share in PAF transport Fleet and since 2002 the use of C-130 in other roles like FLIR (Forward Looking Infrared Radar) equipped to locate the Terrorist hideouts in the most difficult terrains along the Pak Afghan border and droping the Special forces in the terrorist areas are the major roles of C-130 now.

 No 130 Air Engineering Depot is responsible for carrying out the  overhauling C-130 aircraft  this achievement has given a way to the  national cause of self-reliance in defense industry. The country which is successfully producing Fighter jets like JF-17 (FC-1) with collaboration of China  the way Forward in getting the capacity of Overhaul of a transport aircraft like C-130 is an Excellent Sign for the future of Aviation in Pakistan.

Pakistan Air force (PAF) has offered the facility of overhauling C-130 aircraft to the friendly Countries as well this will not only enhance the Pakistan relation with other countries but can be a moral booster for their National image.
